Kane County Justice Court

The Kane County Justice Court has jurisdiction over cases charging class B misdemeanors or less, including most traffic, wildlife, boating, off-highway vehicle, snowmobile, and trucking offenses, and small claims actions arising in the unincorporated parts of Kane County and the Town of Alton.

Payment Information

Electronic payments by Visa or MasterCard may only be made online. No other cards are accepted nor are card payments accepted by telephone. Online payments may be made at the public computer in the Kane County Treasurer's office in the Courthouse.

An online payment fee of $5.00 is charged for electronic payments.

Online payments can only be made if you are forfeiting bail on a citation not requiring a mandatory court appearance or if you have appeared before the court and been sentenced.

Information about a Plea in Abeyance (Traffic School) is available above or by contacting the Court. Do not pay a citation online if you want a Plea in Abeyance until after you have received a Plea in Abeyance Order from the Court.

Payments by cash may be made at the window of the Kane County Justice Court in the courthouse. Do not send cash in the mail.

Payments by a personal check, if sufficient funds are available to cover the check, a cashier's check, or a money order (if from outside of the United States obtain an international money order made payable in US funds) may be mailed to the Court at the address above.
